    eBusiness & eCommerce are terms used interchangeably to refer to the buying and selling of products or services on the Internet.

  • Natural or Organic Search Results

    "Organic" or "Natural" Search Results are web pages listed on search engine result pages (SERPs) that appear because of their relevance to the search terms.

    These results are completely non-biased - meaning that the search engine will not accept any amount of money to influence the rankings of any individual sites. Instead, the results are based on specific criteria that the search engine algorithm determines.

  • Paid Inclusions

    Paid inclusion is a search engine marketing product where the search engine company charges fees related to inclusion of websites in their search index. The fee covers an annual subscription for one webpage, which will automatically be catalogued on a regular basis. Each search engine is different. Often the line between pay per click advertising and paid inclusion is debatable.

  • Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising

    PPC advertising involves sponsored links or adverts that are typically in the form of text ads. These ads are usually displayed close to search engine natural or organic results, where an advertiser pays a particular bid amount for targeted visitors who click on these ad links. PPC advertising has now extended to displaying banner and text ads on their sponsored network which ads appear on the advertiser's web page(s).

    PPC advertising is also known under the following names / variations:

    • Pay per placement
    • Pay per performance
    • Pay per ranking
    • Pay per position
    • Cost per click (CPC)

  • Press Release

    A press release is different from a news article. A news article is a compilation of facts developed by journalists published in the news media, whereas a press release is designed to be sent to journalists in order to encourage them to develop articles on a subject.
